A few days after Halloween, we stumbled into a tree I initially thought was painted for the spooky holiday. It just looked so unreal!
A sign next to it said it was a Rainbow Eucalyptus. Apparently they are even more vibrant during the rainy season when the bark sheds at a rapid rate. The tree constantly exfoliates its papery bark, which begins as bright green, then changes to dark green, then blue, then purple, then a pinky-orange. It’s cycle ends in a deep maroon.
I love this because it’s a reminder that natural colors encompass all colors, neutral and bright hues. It’s a reminder that the world is full of unexpected beauty.
Now I just need to get my own, and a koala to munch on it!
