Who says perfect isn’t possible?
Perfection is achieved in this lazy weekend lunch:
Open-Faced Caramelized Onion and Camembert Sandwich with Cherries
artisan bread
garlic
Camembert
caramelized onions
truffle honey
chopped flat leaf parsley
1. Toast bread. Rub with a cut clove of garlic. Drizzle with olive oil.
2. Put as many caramelized onions as you can on the bread. Add thin wedges of Camembert. Broil for 3 minutes, until cheese is melty.
3. Drizzle with truffle honey your friend brought back from Switzerland (or that you ordered, because once you heard of this mystical ingredient, how could you not?). Sprinkle with parsley and sea salt (preferably fleur de sel).
4. Rinse fresh cherries. Pour a glass of Perrier with a slice of lime. Make another plate for your lover who is usually called husband, but today will be lover. Dine and enjoy life.
