National Geographic teamed up with Pottery Barn Kids for three free classes for little ones. On Saturday we attended the second class, Exploring Birds. The final class is March 24, and will be all about maps.
This was such a delight and great ideas anyone can do at home or in a preschool setting.

Next, we made binoculars by rolling and taping pieces of construction paper. Toilet paper rolls are another fun choice.

The children were given a piece of paper with twelve birds. They went on a bird watch around the store with their binoculars and found large pictures of birds, which they then circled on their paper.

Class wrapped up with a bird-themed storytime and Jack got cozy on the bed. A simple, but fun activity to introduce kids to birds. I will repeat it at home as we study more about birds.
