Max and Jack are super excited for our cross-country trip to visit my mom, their nana. In my search for airplane books, I have yet to find one that adequately shows kids what their experience will resemble. It’s strange how many books show passengers climbing stairs to board a plane rather than walking down the boarding ramp.
I decided to make my own book using my own text and artwork I found by googling free airplane clip art. I just realized I forgot to put security in the book. Nevermind. There is always next time.
This was easy to make. All I did was old school cut and paste, because my computer skills aren’t up to par. It was easier to break out the glue stick than attempt mastering a new software program. I color copied everything. Office Depot laminated the cover and fake boarding passes. I tucked their boarding passes into a pocket I made from an envelope cut in half. A hole punch and pipe cleaner created the sophisticated binding.
Here’s hoping our trip will run as smoothly as the book’s.
