Here’s a little craft project for Easter: make bunny puppets! Older children can decorate their own, or you can make them as a surprise. I made these for Max and Jack in less than an hour. It’s a cute, personal touch to an Easter basket otherwise full of books, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and sand toys.
Supplies:
various colors of felt
glue gun
sewing machine (or needle and thread)
Directions:
1. Draw a bunny template freehand on an old piece of paper. Hold it in half to make evenly shaped ears.
2. Use template as a pattern and cut out two bunnies. Cut other pieces of felt or use buttons, pipe cleaners or other embellishments to make a cute face. Adhere with a glue gun or hand sew.
3. Sew front and back together, leaving an opening for a hand. Felt is sturdy enough to hold up ears without any extra help.
Get creative. Make chicks, lambs, Easter eggs….
