Bathroom Renovation: Before

Say hello and then good-bye to my charming vintage bathroom.  We have a gut job this month.

This is our only bathroom. The original from the 1940s.

Although I wouldn't choose blue and white today, I do love these cute tiles.

The problem is when they break, or we want a new towel rod. We can't find replacements.

Interesting patch job done by my husband. Impossible to completely clean.

Did I mention, storage is an issue?

An issue?

An issue? And what's with the framed picture of some old man above my toilet?

And the Aztec sun graciously holding our scruby gloves?

I'm certain I can improve our lighting.

Lesson learned: pedestal sinks are adorable, but should only be installed in rooms (and homes) with adequete storage. I even question their use in a powder room. Answser the question of where the spare roll of toilet paper belongs before installing one.

The most dreaded part of my bathroom is our current tub. It was sprayed years ago, but is now peeling. The more I clean, the more it peels. It must go.
