Gong Hay Fat Chow!
Today marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, and this year it’s the Year of the Dragon!
We are celebrating this wildly at our house. I adore holidays and it’s such a great opportunity to enrich and expand our kiddos’ cultural horizon. This evening we will be attending the Miami Children’s Museum’s Dragon Parade. It’s sure to be spectacular. Afterwards we will eat a Chinese dinner at home consisting of Egg Drop Soup, Sweet Potato Wontons, Stir Fry with Maifun Noodles, tea and fortune cookies!
I’ll share pictures of our evening tomorrow, but here are the signs of Chinese New Year around our house so far:
The kids have been saying, Gong Hay Fat Chow all day.
Dragon, dragon, touch the ground.
Dragon, dragon, shake your head.
Dragon, dragon, tongue so red.
Dragon, dragon, stamp your feet.
For now, I must go. Time to dust off my wok and celebrate the coming of a dragon!
