Mud Day for Kids: Good Summer Fun

mud11

As a mom, I have a lot of rules half of which are designed to keep messes to a minimum. We are a no shoes house. A clean up your own mess house.  An artwork at the table house.

But Monday was Mud Day.

With two little boys, ages 5 and 7, I had to make space for some good clean, dirty fun. We took a day off from wiping our feet to wallow like pigs in the mud. The boys had a blast! I let them run wild making mud pies, flinging mud at walls Jackson Pollack-style, painting, and rolling around in hog heaven.

Jack wasn’t shy.

Max, not surprisingly, showed his inner Felix and took possession of the hose.
