Beach Babies

Yes, it is hard to drag a double stroller through sand.  It is a challenge to haul umbrellas, buckets, towels, bags and sometimes grumpy bodies to the shoreline.  No, no matter how many times you explain not to put sand on the beach blanket, a toddler will not understand.

But then again, what an extraordinary privilege it is to introduce a human being to Mother Ocean.

Tropical babies (Miami Beach) Max discovered his footprints and ran up and down the shoreline marking his presence and squealing with delight.

Max catches water on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk.

Jack catches water.

Found treasures.

Teaching a child to stand still and let a wave wash over his feet.

Max at the edge of the ocean. (Key Biscayne)

Jack, my fearless water baby.

After an hour of play, Jack crawled into my arms and listened to the ocean in the comfort of mama's embrace.

Beside the big ocean, the world became small again.

Remember us? We started this whole thing!
