I am very pleased to invite my South Florida readers to attend HeartCamp on 4 February 2012, in Fort Lauderdale. Actually everyone is invited, but the location makes me think only locals will attend this year. This is the inaugural event and it is expected to grow. In the future HeartCamp may travel to other cites or certainly inspire travel to South Florida. It’s thrilling to participate in the launch of what I believe will be an amazing annual gathering.
HeartCamp is the brainchild of Maria de Los Angeles. It’s an offshoot of Barcamp, an extremely popular conference where speakers and participants connect in a casual format to share insights and ideas. HeartCamp shares the same informal atmosphere, but centers the discussions around all matters of the heart. Topics include love, sex, parenting, anxiety, relationships, spirituality, health, wellness and more.
My speech, Living a Deliberate Life, will take place at 2pm. I will address how to break through the hectic tempo of our modern lives to find the time, energy and focus to live mindfully. Most of us have an idea of how we want our lives to take shape, but have difficulty making that vision a reality. We get caught up in being busy and put our lives on autopilot. Years can pass this way until we suddenly wake up and realize we are not living the life we intended. Learning to live a deliberate life ultimately leads to a life of meaningful happiness.
This is an inexpensive, but extremely valuable event. It is nonprofit and the nominal fee will be used to make the event wonderful for all participants.
